Unfamiliar Openings

It is hard to fathom what is happening in my life. So little is familiar. Things are gone and I am not sure where I am. How do I go forward?

What Has Gone

We have all been through a lot since the start of 2020. In the moment, we are experiencing a bit more freedom. However, looming over us are other concerns about the future. It seems as if the changes we are going through come in continuing layers.

Much has gone – the ability to gather and travel as we please whenever and wherever we want, being free from concern about a virus, shopping without distance and masks and stress-free hugs. New things have entered our lives – solitude welcomed or imposed, staying local, increased awareness of our bodies, a sense of loss and emerging new vistas.

The process of release frees us to move forward. We can acknowledge and, if necessary, mourn what is gone. If we are to move forward, the changes that have occurred should be recognized. The changes for many have been profound and of varying natures. Each of us will do this in our own way.

The Present Moment

Once we release the past, the present moment is the best that we have. In the present moment, let’s look around. What is the landscape of our lives now? What does this landscape tell us regarding our present circumstances – what we can and cannot do? Best that we remain alert to what happens around us, protecting ourselves and finding ways to grow and be happy.

In the present moment, we have the advantage of not living in the past or the future. We are fully integrated in reality. It is in the present that we are fully alive. That is where we must keep ourselves to thrive and prosper. There is some acclimating to our present right now. It is the present that will guide us to our future. The past cannot.

The present moment contains a good deal of uncertainty right now. We had best get comfortable with advancing in the unknown. The path is not clear but can be taken one step at a time. In the present moment, we are in the best place we can be. A new world is awaiting us and will reveal itself in time. We want to be fully present when it does.

Acceptance

In eras of great change, we need time to transition from old to new. One part of transition is acceptance of what has changed. Acceptance is a state of finding something capable or worthy. It may take time to consider change as capable or worthy. That is the journey. Can we accept what has happened and the way the world is now as parts of how we go forward?

The nature of the change we have been through, is substantial. To reach acceptance, we need both time and strength. A positive attitude helps us see the benefits of change. Courage helps us to navigate the change. Self-confidence helps us make the best of change. And this change is not over. We face a lot of uncertainty, complicating things.

When we reach acceptance, we can move forward. Our attention turns to the present and fear recedes. We are ready to embrace Openings that appear. The context we operate in is based in current reality and our best judgements can be made.

The Nature Of Openings Now

This post is titled Unfamiliar Openings. In a time of change like ours, it is natural that many things are unfamiliar. That is the nature of change. The way we experience Openings may change as well. Perhaps they will be more subtle or be right in front of our faces. We don’t know, so it is wise to stay alert to and aware of the nature of the Openings we encounter.

What kind of Openings fit with these times? Openings that bring us forward in a world that we have not experienced before. Openings that help us cope with change. Openings that put us in situations where we have more insight and awareness of the world around and within us. Openings that help us take on roles meant for these times.

There will be a special nature to the Openings we encounter now. Let’s get to know, embrace and welcome them!

I am opening to new Openings! I welcome them and hope they take the edge off the challenges of these times.
