Holiday Openings

 Holiday Openings?

Are There Such Things?

Openings are everywhere – the holidays don’t change that. The holidays have their own energy and so do these Openings, shaped by how we are this time of year and our experiences. They can be light and joyful, but also somber and serious. They fit our journeys.

If our holidays are light and joyful, the Openings we encounter could be the same. We could enrich relationships, see new opportunities, gain new perspectives, do something we couldn’t do before or reach out in new ways. The holidays could accentuate our experiences with joy, celebration, love and community. Openings could show up that fit our state of mind and bring us forward.

If our holidays are challenging, for whatever reason, Openings can be mirrors that help us grow. They could cause us to go deeper within, deal with solitude, see things that we did not see before, contemplate things we haven’t had time for or take a new look at our existing relationships. These Openings will bring us forward as well.

Take A Look

The holidays are busy times – our attention is taken up with many things. Even if we are not busy, the holidays surround us, visually and otherwise. Looking for Openings may not be high on our lists. But why not? It doesn’t take much. We know what Openings are. We just need to open our awareness and see if any are around. Give them some attention. Openings don’t take a break during the holidays. 

How to look for holiday Openings? As we feel joy, see what opens up to us. Can it take us somewhere? Are we more optimistic, open to new experiences? As we spend time with others, what do we see? What can we do with what we see? As we rush around in a new energy how do we get things done? Are Openings showing us new ways to deal with the stress of the holidays?

If the holidays are challenging, how do we make it through them? What are our coping mechanisms? Where do we go with our emotions? What experiences affect or trigger us? Do Openings show us new ways to face challenges? Do they intensify or lessen our challenges? Do they open a different point of view? Do they present a path to a different, more positive way to experience the holidays? Do they offer ways for us to heal?

A Different Time Of Year

The holidays are a different time of year. They hold intensity, joy, sadness, conflict, regret, community, absence, need and love all at the same time. They change our landscape for the time they are with us. There are expectations that we all enjoy them, shutting other emotions out. There is commercialism, religion, myth and playfulness. They highlight our differences when one view of the meaning of the holidays tries to dominate others.

When the new year comes around, we all face the same turning point together. We are setting our visions for the coming year. We are often excited, introspective, looking back at the past year, anticipating what is to come and starting over again. The new year is a marking point. Openings abound. We even can have a hand in creating Openings through the strength of our intentions.

We’re in the holidays right now. There are multiple Openings around us that we just need to turn our heads to see. The holidays are a natural environment for unique and transformative Openings.

Openings Can Make Your Holiday Bright

So, can we open our minds and hearts to the Openings that are possible during the holidays? They surround us like stars in the glitter of the holidays, waiting for us to recognize them.

Wishing you the best Holiday Openings ever!
