The Opening of 2025

2025 Is an Opening

Here I am in a new year.

Happy 2025! We are starting a new year once again. We could try to ignore the change, but it is all around us in media, festivities, gatherings.  A new year brings so much – emotions, thoughts, fears, hope, resolutions. Change often manifests Openings.

We could play down the new year – it’s just another day. Our society, however, makes a big deal of it. We could call the new year an inevitable Opening, because of the fanfare surrounding New Years Eve and Day.

So, what do we want to do now with this Opening of 2025? Let’s recognize it. We have already entered it. What’s the point in ignoring it? Openings bring opportunity, challenge and movement. We have a chance to start anew. We have made each new year a fresh one and often see this time as brimming with possibility.

Promise

With any new year comes promise. What is the promise of 2025? We are in a time of change, so change is part of its promise. It could be drastic change or limited change, but here in the US, for some, it’s trending towards drastic. There are varying reactions and responses to the change. Reconfiguration of the environment we are in is very possible. All this promises that our lives could be very different by 2026.

We all have a say in the promise of 2025. There’s no roadmap for what will happen. We are facing the unknown. What do we want to create in 2025? What will we commit to? What’s available to us to make the changes we want to? We can direct our energies and focus towards taking advantage of this Opening.

Oprah has a quote about the new year, “Cheers to a new year and another chance for us to get it right.”  That is part of 2025’s promise.  A chance to do something different using skills and wisdom we have gained since the last time we tried. We can re-vision what we want to do. We can widen our vistas. We can expand our view of what is possible.

Let’s do some coaching and find what promise 2025 holds for you!

Chaos

There has been quite a lot of speculation that 2025 is going to be a chaotic year. Not just the change we will experience but the nature of the change and how it is facilitated. Chaos involves great disorder and confusion. As humans we often value stability. That does not exist in chaos. We may be tossed around in 2025. We may experience things we never have experienced before.

There is, however, promise in chaos. Chaos shakes things up and reconfigures them. Maybe there are some things that need shaking up. A problem some have with chaos is that we lose control. We must do our best to flow within chaos, moving when we can and finding a center point within it. Chaos could result in our world getting better. Think of the chaos within the cocoon that eventually forms the butterfly.

It behooves us to acknowledge the possibility of chaos in 2025 as signs exist that we will be dealing with it. How are we going to handle it? If we don’t like what chaos brings, what are we going to do about it? How can we personally make the best of any chaos we experience? Someone once said to me that it is the sand in the oyster that creates the pearl. Could chaos create something that we welcome?

Entering the Opening of 2025

There is not much choice here. The Opening of 2025 is with us, no doubt about that. Let’s make the most of it and shape our response the best that we can.

Here I go. I’ll make the most of this Opening of 2025!
