Omicron Openings

A rock arch over turbulent water in the sea

A new chapter in the pandemic – the Omicron variant. I’ve had enough and just want this to be done.

A New Chapter

Though unwelcome by many, the emergence of the Omicron variant opens a new chapter in our pandemic experience. Must we dread an unwelcome new chapter? No. It’s natural that we want the pandemic to be over. Omicron offers challenges of high transmissibility and many of the negative health impacts of previous variants.

We are weary. The pandemic has taken quite a toll on us and aspects of our lives have changed drastically. Now, when we thought things were easing they get complicated again. There is the reminder that the pandemic is far from over. We wonder how long it will be with us. We want freedom again and to live our lives without restriction.

Despite the weight of this new chapter, Omicron is something new. Perhaps we can handle this chapter differently than we handled earlier pandemic experiences. Are we wiser now? What have we learned that we can put into practice now? How can we view this chapter as positive in some ways, along with the challenges it presents?

Finding Openings When Life Changes

Change always brings movement. Within movement there are new Openings. Things around us are different. We see in a new way. Changes, whether we perceive them as good or bad, bring opportunities for Openings. When we surrender and accept the change that has occurred, we will begin to see the Openings that are present for us.

We have some say in directing the movement that change brings. Our response to change is fully within our control. We have agency. Our agency depends on our ability to perceive the change fully from the present moment – not looking back to the past or forward to the future. What is happening right now and how do we want to respond to it?

Once we have accepted change, we can look around for Openings. What is different in our lives? What emotions are coming up? What do we want to do in response to the change? What opportunities do we see that were not seen before? Is something rising in us? Do we have a new excitement of what may be possible?

My Coaching For A New Era program can guide you to find the Openings waiting for you!

Omicron Openings

How is the emergence of the Omicron variant affecting us?  Is it making us stronger? Affirming or causing us to question beliefs we have? Causing us to defend our freedom as restrictions are put in place? Changing our patterns and lives as we protect ourselves? All of these situations contain Openings.

We can all see the changes that the pandemic has brought to our world and our individual lives. Very few of us remain unchanged. We have gone through Openings willingly or unwillingly. Barriers in our lives have broken down. Social interactions have been restricted. There is much uncertainty. We have lost people close to us and many of our ways of being are no longer possible.

Enduring and Thriving

Although some of the Openings brought by the pandemic, and now the Omicron variant, at first seemed unwelcome, they are here now and are asking a lot of us. We must trust that we will grow and change in positive ways. This trust will help us to accept our current circumstances and to see the Openings now available.

Enduring all this asks us not to look away or to be overtaken by what is occurring. Our point of view is so important – it must change from the past to the reality of the present moment. As we accept the present, it may look different, and possibly better, to us than we anticipated. Our ability to center ourselves through this change and uncertainty will allow us to thrive.

Let us take a moment now to look at how we are enduring the pandemic and the presence of this new Omicron variant. What is our point of view? Have we accepted the circumstances that now surround us? Can we see the possibility of thriving amidst these changes? Perhaps we will reinvent ourselves. Perhaps the Openings we begin to see will make our lives better than ever!

I see the importance of my point of view through this time of change. I am going to look for Openings available to me and find a way to thrive.
