I want the agency to find Openings when I aspire to them.

Being Our Best Selves

To live life fully we must strive to be our best selves. In doing so, we let go of things that no longer serve us, dig deep within ourselves to find what has held us back and develop the courage, insight and strength to grow. Someone once said to me that life is a schoolhouse where we are meant to grow and learn. If we look at our lives this way, Openings are critical elements for moving forward.

Openings help us rise. They beckon us to grow. They open opportunities for us to sharpen our discernment and power of choice. As we choose to enter an Opening, all kinds of things are available to us. We do what it takes to navigate them and deal with what comes up along the way. New experiences offered by an Opening often stretch us and expose us to new vistas. We leave an Opening changed from how we were when we entered.

Being our best selves involves embracing new challenges. We learn to deal with risk and uncertainty – there is no set or worn path to our best self. The path is unique for each of us. We encounter the unknown and learn to accept that we do not control everything that happens in our lives. We learn to move forward with our fear, so that it does not stop us. We leave our comfort zone behind and enter new territory.

Keeping An Eye Out for Openings

If we want to proactively grow, we may find ourselves looking for Openings. Openings often show up on their own and that may be what we are most used to. It’s just a shift in perspective to look for Openings. Looking involves our own receptivity to growth and change. It also involves clearing ourselves by actively dealing with our limitations, resistance and things that hold us back.

How can we find Openings on our own or with others? Here are some ways to move forward on this:

  • Develop our intuition and listen. So much within us can interfere with accessing our intuition (especially an overactive mind). Be aware of subtle clues that are leading us to an Opening.
  • Seek out new experiences.
  • Change things up, every once in a while.
  • Develop yourself, so you are capable of more.
  • Get to know people who are a bit ahead of where you want to be.
  • Study with someone to stretch yourself.
  • Develop your outer and inner being.

Being a seeker leads us to Openings. Curiosity brings us to new places. Get the gist? Stay in action, be a lifetime learner and we will find Openings.

Creating Openings?

Can we create Openings? Yes, we can. Perhaps not by saying “open” and one appears, but by putting ourselves in a space and frame of mind where Openings are welcome. We must be careful not to block Openings and be aware when we are holding ourselves back. Openings are available to us in many circumstances. We can find them if we seek them out.

There is a difference between will and intent when we create Openings. In this context will is a forcing – we want something and we push hard to get it. In the process, our minds can take over trying to block out the presence of the unknown as well as the subtle clues that show up leading us to Openings. Intent is more like pulling back an arrow and letting go. We aim and see where that brings us.

We also can take actions that we hope will take us to Openings. Here again intent is the way – being clear that we are seeking Openings, being our best selves and acknowledging that we do not have total control.

Rising

Being our best selves allows us to rise. It’s a good way to spend our time on this earth. Good for us individually and for the world.

I like this. It’s a fun and rewarding journey seeking Openings!
