Heart and Mind
It can be confusing at times. Use my mind. Act with love. Sometimes they are in opposition.
When It Comes To Openings
As we face an Opening, we can use many aspects of ourselves to decide whether to enter. Primary among these aspects are our hearts and our minds. The way our society has shaped modern life, focus on the mind often dominates focus on the heart. The mind is considered supreme. With the rise of artificial “intelligence” this consideration of the mind’s supremacy is further emphasized.
There is a role for our hearts in guiding our lives that is often minimized and disregarded. Coming from the heart as we face an Opening adds a different and valuable dimension to our choices. Think of how the heart may perceive an Opening. Does it differ from mind? How? What can we gain by looking at an Opening with both our minds and hearts?
When it comes to Openings, we benefit in using all that is available to us as we make our choices. Openings move us forward. They challenge us. The decisions we make regarding them influence the course of our lives. Why not bring all that we can to our choices and navigation of the Openings in our lives?
Heart and Mind
Modern developments in neuroscience and cognitive science have revealed more and more regarding the functioning of the brain, which is seen as having a central role in shaping thoughts, decisions, and behaviors, with research suggesting conscious control over actions rather than unconscious influences. The mind influences what we see and experience before it ever reaches our conscious awareness.
The mind plays such a huge role in our lives. It filters our reality in major ways. Our experiences, thoughts, and feelings from our childhood through adulthood have shaped our minds’ perceptions. We are not always aware of this filter and think what we are looking at is the reality, rather than our unique perception of it.
Our focus on the mind often eclipses the role of our hearts. Our perception of heart is inextricably connected to love. Modern society often overlooks the importance of truly understanding love. A focus on love can be seen as weak and ineffective, even soft. The power of love is underestimated constantly.
Balancing Mind and Heart
We can benefit greatly when we balance the mind and heart. Balancing the mind and heart fosters emotional well-being and resilience, allowing us to respond to challenges with compassion and clarity. A harmonious connection between the mind and heart fosters a sense of peace and stability. Balancing them can significantly lower stress levels, which is crucial for overall health.
Despite modern society’s focus on the mind’s dominance, heart-mind balance is vital in leading a fulfilling life. It not only enhances personal well-being but also positively impacts relationships and overall health. Using mind and heart in balance fosters a more holistic understanding of human experience and moral consciousness.
Take a moment to envision what it is like to view an Opening balanced between mind and heart. How does it differ from allowing the mind to dominate? How might it affect our choices and experiences of the Opening? Our society often frowns on choices made with the heart dominant. They want to bring the mind and intellect in to validate any choice. They see heart-based choices as weak.
