The Openings In Nature
Our Original Home
Nature is where humanity was born. It is our paradise and biological home. We are part of nature. Over time, we have disconnected ourselves from nature to varying degrees. What are we missing if we are disconnected? Being in a place that offers us Openings – opportunities for growth and transformation, invitations to change and insights.
Indigenous cultures connect to every aspect of nature. Their surroundings in the natural world guide their lives and work. They are well acquainted with the Openings in nature, honoring them and teaching their generations. They learn from and live in harmony with nature. They respect and honor nature’s place in their lives.
Is it time for us to come home to nature? This is such a challenging time in the world. It calls for our growth and transformation in monumental ways. Is it possible that nature is just waiting for us to reconnect and will help us in this time? It’s a worthwhile direction. We can look to nature for the Openings we need.
➟ My Coaching for a New Era program helps you see and use Openings to grow into the new world that is emerging.
Sound, Color and More
Nature soothes us – with its sounds, colors, beauty, stillness, diversity and peace. It welcomes us to be with it. Just being in nature changes us for the time we are there and beyond. Nature also beckons us. However, the hub-bub of our modern world often hinders our connection, preventing us from having the time we need in the natural world.
The beauty of nature feeds our senses and enlivens us. It brings us to a higher vibration of energy – a good place to be when looking for Openings. If we can become still, we can spend hours within nature and experience the beauty that surrounds us.
Nature holds many keys to our existence. As we experience the beauty of nature, we are lifted up to vistas we would not have seen otherwise. As we study nature and all of its inhabitants, we learn about our world and ourselves. Nature is full of stories waiting to be told to us. Nature’s beauty opens our hearts and minds to things that our modern world crowds out.
The Wild Side Of Nature
Nature has many sides, including a wild one. We may be sitting serenely in a natural setting and a fierce storm comes upon us. We may be walking in a field and come upon a grizzly bear. We may experience nature’s terrible destruction in a tornado or forest fire. There are many Openings contained in the wild side of nature.
Nature’s animals have much to show us that can lead to Openings. Native cultures study animals – their habitats, practices, strengths and weaknesses – and apply what they learn to their own human lives. These Openings teach us other ways of living. When we connect to animals we are changed. We must move out of our “humanness” to another place, in order to connect with them.
Nature’s flora and fauna can heal us, hurt us and poison us. This Opening from nature teaches us to gain knowledge and to be careful. We must observe prudently and be taught by those who know. Nature’s flowers teach us of beauty, growth and opening. Trees bring us majesty, shade and have gifts to share with us.
A Sort Of Magic
The Openings offered us by nature are a sort of magic. In the early days of humanity, nature’s bounty was revered. All that we needed to grow and thrive was laid before us. We have distanced ourselves, thinking that we did not need her Openings. How wrong we were and now we see why. We must reconnect and nature is waiting for us.
Beauty is essential to our well-being and is abundant in the natural world. Beauty is a primary Opening, necessary to our survival and healing. We can create beauty ourselves, yes, but we must avail ourselves of natural beauty as well. To do so, we must protect nature and correct the damage we have done.
Let us commit ourselves to seeking the Openings that nature offers us. Let’s get close to her. It will improve our lives and spirits and may save us from the destruction we see happening now. There are Openings in nature. She is rich with them and they are waiting for us.
How interesting that nature has been full of Openings for so long and we have distanced ourselves from her and what she has to give. This must change. Our journeys depend and thrive on finding Openings
