Dancing With Openings
Why is dealing with Openings so hard? Every Opening I encounter is challenging in some way.
Flow
In many areas of our lives, flow makes things easier. Life has a flow to it and so do Openings. Flow often requires us to get out of our everyday mind into a harmony of body, mind and spirit. Flow asks us to center and become aware of our surroundings and the Opening that is before us. What do we see? How do we feel?
Flow allows life and Openings to work for us. We ride with them and find their rhythm, rather than countering them with our own. We let go of our fear, hesitation and anxiety and relax. We embrace the unknown before us and deal in the present moment with whatever comes. We are carried by the energy the Opening offers and are still in control of our responses to them.
We move more into our instinctual nature as we flow with Openings. It is a way of being comfortable with the unknown, which is always present when Openings appear. Getting comfortable with the unknown asks a lot of us. However, doing so serves us because any sense of total control or certitude is an illusion.
Partnering
The thought of partnering with an Opening has a nice energy about it, yes? An Opening appears and we are at a choice point. Even if we choose not to enter the Opening, we partner for a little while. The Opening becomes a part of our journey. And if we choose to enter it, we experience what the Opening is offering.
What is a true partnership with an Opening? We can look at it as a collaboration. We have chosen to take the journey offered to us. The Opening has set a path that we discover over time. Partnership does not mean everything we experience is positive. Negative things can occur, but the Opening is taking us somewhere and knows what is entailed in getting there.
Partnering involves cooperation. As we enter an Opening, we use our intuition and discernment to determine our next steps. Although the Opening sets a direction, it is we who must find out how to walk its path. We are independent partners heading towards growth and new experiences. We are partnerswith Openings in the evolution of our lives.
Ease
Ease aligns with flow. When we are at ease, we are comfortable. We are free to experience our lives without fear or hesitation. We are fully in. We are not constrained. Things fall into place and we go forward. An easy wind is at our back. We are fully present to what occurs in each moment, giving us what we need to move forward.
Ease, however, does require awareness and alertness. We must respond to what occurs, not fall asleep in our easy chair. We are intentional in what we do. We take responsibility for ourselves and our actions. We maintain our balance and centeredness. We are in control of our minds, emotions and physicality. We proceed with confidence.
We surrender to what we cannot control and choose accordingly. We are assertive when we need to be. We have emotional intelligence, which allows us to recognize what we need to when we encounter a person or a situation. We make good decisions. We let go of things that no longer serve us, so that we can proceed unencumbered within an Opening

What do we gain when we “dance” with Openings? Our lives and experiences are so much easier to handle. We move towards mastery in encountering and making use of Openings. Openings are no longer threats or inconveniences. They are ways that we can grow and thrive. We see Openings for the blessings that they are.
Openings give us new experiences. They keep us from being complacent and routine. They give us adventures, growth and new ideas and make our lives exciting and worthwhile. There are few dance partners better than that!
