This Opening has a different feel to it. Almost as if I am fleeing something. Like a safe passageway.

Protective?

Often, when we look at Openings together, they are gateways, not shelters. They get us in motion and bring us to new places. They do not seem to be protecting us, rather they are challenging us to grow. They are open roads to something new in our lives. We are exposed to things we may not have been exposed to before. We are catapulted into new territory and are on our way to significant change.

Protection is not stagnant. It provides cover and shields us. It guards us. We can move within a Protective Opening. Say we have started a new venture – there is our Opening. However, within that Opening there may be a mentor or ally that provides some protection for us as we learn to navigate the Opening. It is like the Hero’s Journey where, once we accept the call to adventure, mentors and guides appear for us.

Say we encounter an Opening and begin a new chapter in our lives. Finances have been a concern in our past, but as we enter the Opening those concerns are allayed by receiving enough money to get us through. In a way, the money protects us – from worry, fear and distraction. Then we can focus our efforts on the Opening and our own growth. We strengthen and can face what the Opening brings.

Where They May Lead Us

Openings lead us all kinds of places. They are tailored to our individual journeys. Protective Openings lead us many places as well – with a layer of protection that makes them unique.  Protection may shield us from the storms involved in an Opening – helping us navigate them more effectively. Protective Openings may provide smoother pathways to a desired result. They may quicken us, so we are ready for what is to come.

Openings serve different purposes. Protective Openings may have their purpose – to get us somewhere with a little bit of help. Nothing wrong with that. There’s no rule that says Openings must be difficult or that we must navigate them alone. We have had the courage to say yes to an Opening. Our journeys through them can be benevolent.

Protective Openings provide shelter. In providing that shelter we can restore and rejuvenate. If someone is in an abusive situation, a Protective Opening may lead them to a safe haven. If life has become too much, a Protective Opening may provide a quiet place away from the chaos that is unsettling us. Once within a Protective Opening, we can get our bearings and come back to ourselves.

Still We Are In Motion

All Openings create movement and lead us to new places in our lives. The change may be mental, emotional or physical or all three. Just entering an Opening brings motion. We are in a new environment with new considerations, experiences and challenges. We have no choice but to acclimate within it. Are we going to stay in place in this new environment? Most likely, no. We entered the Opening expecting change and that is what it is offering.

Say we enter a Protective Opening that is sheltering us. Once we feel a sense of safety, we may find stillness within. The chaos and worry are gone. The sense of safety allows us to think more clearly and gain clarity on what we have been though and where we would like to go. It may take away what has been distracting us. It may dispel fear. Within this sense of safety, we have more freedom to be our true selves and thrive.
