Harmony and Openings

As Openings appear, they add one more thing for me to handle. Balance can be a real challenge.

On Our Paths

Someone once said to me “life is a schoolhouse”. What she meant is that the purpose of our life journeys is for us to learn and grow. Openings are benefits, not burdens. They show us the way and sharpen our discernment. They build our courage and strength to handle life’s challenges. They also bring wonderful things to our lives and keep us vibrant.

Sometimes, Openings come quickly and in rapid succession. That is when we are most likely to see them as a burden. They take our time and attention and stretch us. If we are here to learn and grow, this is not a surprise, is it? Openings are a vehicle to help us move forward. Even so, they demand our attention and add to the already fast pace of our lives.

Alternatively, we may go long times without Openings appearing. In those times, we may feel “stuck”. We are not in movement. That doesn’t work. We know that we are here to learn and grow.

➟   Are you feeling stuck? Let’s coach!

Do we want Openings to appear in our lives? That’s worthwhile to think about. Considering their benefits, why wouldn’t we want them?

Awareness of Openings

It serves us to cultivate our awareness of Openings for the valuable tools that they are. They are steppingstones on our journeys. They take us places. Engaging with Openings asks for our time, intention, discernment and trust. We can stay aware of the Openings we have encountered in the past and how they affected us. We can look at our response and attitudes to Openings and how we might respond to them in the future.

We can also create a context for the role of Openings in our lives to make them more familiar and to get comfortable with their presence. We can see them as the steppingstones that they are or find another context that works for us. A context allows us to see Openings as a continuum, rather than respond to every Opening that arrives as a brand-new experience, ignoring what we have already learned from them.

Awareness is so important in our journeys. Often, we put blinders on and see only the aspects of our lives that we are comfortable with. Expanding our awareness allows us to see the whole of our lives and to make better choices. With awareness, we will not hide from or neglect aspects of our lives that need attention. We will allow for Openings, knowing that making progress in our journeys brings fine rewards.

Embracing Openings

Are we truly embracing Openings at this moment of our lives? Are we in harmony with them and with our journeys? Here are some questions that may help us in getting to an embrace of Openings.

  • What has been our perspective on Openings till now? Are they burdens? Do we welcome them?
  • What has been the effect of the Openings we have experienced? Did they make our lives better?
  • Identify an Opening we experienced that moved our journey forward. How did it do so?
  • What would our lives be like if Openings did not exist?
  • Have we ever said no to an Opening and regretted doing so?
  • Has there been an Opening we entered that brought more flow and harmony into our lives? Did any bring discord? If yes, to what result?
  • How do we approach Openings? Is our way effective?
  • Do we have a context for the role of Openings in our lives?
  • How do we make the choice whether or not to enter an Opening?
  • What are 3 things we can do that will increase the chance that an Opening will bring harmony to our lives?

Flow

As we acknowledge, build our awareness of, and embrace Openings we create a flow – like a river heading to the sea. We are in harmony with them and make the most of the presence of Openings in our lives.

Cultivating and developing my relationship with Openings brings balance to my life. I’m ready for the Openings to come.
