Openings and Our Journeys

A path with an arch of trees surrounding it, made golden by the sun.

Are Openings ends in themselves? Should I keep all my focus on finding them so I can grow?

Openings Are Part Of A Wider Path

Openings are certainly worth our while. They keep us moving and help us develop the skills we need to live, grow and learn. They hone our ability to make positive choices – it is up to us to examine what an Opening offers and say yes or no to entering it. Openings can involve failure which helps us with developing discernment and power. They open new vistas in our life and expand our vision.

This blog focuses on recognizing and navigating Openings so that we can make the most of them. Our laser focus is just that, a close look at one aspect of our lives. By looking closely, we get to know and make the most of Openings. However, they are just a part of a wider path. Our paths are multi-faceted and we need to see the entire landscape of our journeys.

Openings are catalysts and allow movement. They offer new directions. They are tailored to our unique journeys. They should be valued and acknowledged as major elements of our journeys.

The Role Openings Play

Openings provide opportunities to advance in our journeys. They quicken us, allowing us to move faster. They allow for discovery of new concepts and for new experiences. In deciding whether to enter an Opening, we learn discernment, an important skill. They allow us to be the best we can be and to have a positive impact on our own lives, as well as the lives of others.

If we turn away too often from Openings, our journeys can stagnate. We need to stay alert to the presence of Openings and take advantage of what they are offering. We need to hone our powers of choice and have a grounded sense of what our journeys are about. Ignoring Openings eventually puts us “asleep” to our journeys. We lose our appreciation of them and fail to learn and grow in a meaningful way.

If we embrace Openings, our journeys thrive. We have the advantages that Openings offer. Our journeys move forward. We have adventures and new experiences. We learn and grow. We gain wisdom and skill. Our journeys progress and we have more fulfillment and joy. Our journeys are about movement and improvement – Openings get us there.

A Bigger Context

To navigate our lives, having a context can be very helpful. Context is the interrelated conditions in which something exists or occurs. It is a story for our journeys. Some see the journey as a Chrysalis – a process of transformation by which we leave who we are and become something new. Others can have a context that we are meant to grow and learn. Openings can help in both contexts.

Whether by default or intention, the context we have for our journeys greatly influences our experience of them. Our context can be a burdensome one or a positive one that allows us to thrive. A context by default is usually rooted in our beliefs and attitudes regarding the meaning of our lives, without conscious acknowledgement that the context exists. Context influences our actions when it comes to Openings and also our experience of them.

We can find the context we are operating in by examining our experience of them. How do we view Openings? Do we see them as positive elements of our lives? Do we fear them? Do we think it is important to grow and learn? Do we see Openings as burdens? Do we welcome and make the most of them? How do we make our choices of whether to enter them?
