Missing

A small yellow flower coming up through hard, cracked brown dirt.

Honestly, I don’t know what I want in my life with all the chaos and change that surrounds me.

What’s Missing?

It’s a bit of a crazy time to be certain about what we want to manifest in our life. Things are shifting and changing at a rapid rate. We really don’t know how our world will be, even a month from now (maybe a day from now!). How do we set a direction for ourselves with so much missing in terms of our picture of the world we will be living in?

We could focus on what we want to bring into our life as it is right now. That’s what we know we have – the present moment. Start there and see what manifests. At least this sets us in a direction but with no preconceptions of what it will bring us. In the past, we may have said this is what we want and the way to get there. That seems elusive right now.

It may become an adventure for us. Setting out without a certain destination, acknowledging that anything can happen. We could experience redirections, surprises, challenges or fun. We can face it all with optimism, strength and confidence in our ability to handle whatever comes. It’s the most realistic way to proceed in our world today. Can we really be certain of what awaits us?

Will and Intention

Will: The mental faculty by which one deliberately chooses or decides upon a course of action.

Intention: An aim that guides action; an objective.

Will has served us in the past. It fuels us and gets us where we want to go. The times we are going through now are very different from the past, however. They call for special approaches. Using our will is forceful. Can we force our way through these times, or do we need flexibility?

Intention has that flexibility. It is like pulling back an arrow and aiming at our target. Once we let go of the arrow, we lose control of it and rely on the power of our intention. As the arrow of our intention flies, any number of factors can affect its path. So, we trust and have faith in what we put into our intention. If the path of the arrow changes, we get present and figure out what to do.

With our intention, we are acknowledging the environment we are in and adapting to it. An arrow is flexible in its direction. If change and chaos surround it, it can adjust. Will is more rigid and can be broken.

Can you discern the difference between will and intent and know when to use each to your maximum advantage? Coaching can help you master the art of intention.

Seeking and Choosing Openings in the Unknown

In this blog, we have looked a lot at mystery and functioning in the unknown. We have ways to deal with this. Today, let’s look at seeking and choosing whether to enter Openings in our current environment. The state of our world can upset us and take away our balance. This is not the best way to seek and choose Openings. A steady foundation from which to seek and choose Openings doesn’t exist right now.

Within the chaos and change, new opportunities may arise. Chaos and change shake things up. New things appear and other things are altered. We’re in a new landscape. That new landscape allows new Openings. We may have new insights and perspectives as we encounter the Openings available to us.

There is a foundation for seeking and choosing Openings that is within us. As we go within, acknowledging the presence of change and the unknown, we can steady ourselves. We can make ourselves ready to handle whatever comes by developing and strengthening our courage, discernment, embrace of adventure and joy in the present moment.

Letting It Be

With this all said, let’s get real and let it be. In doing so, we release the past and things that no longer serve us. We look clearly at what is right now and go from there. What’s missing is making room for the new. We can welcome what comes and make room for it!

I have found the Beatles’ song “Let It Be” comforting many times. That’s what I’ll do, let it be and find my way.
